"Begin with the end in mind" as Stephen Covey would advise. That is exactly what I have in mind!!
Flashback: Back in 2015, we were planning our inaugural World Speech Day on 15 March 2016. YMCA of Singapore sponsored their Auditorium for a 13-hour non-stop speech marathon from 9am to 10pm. The theme "For A Better World" was live-streamed across the globe on RINGS.TV.
For World Speech Day 2017 on 15 March 2017, the sub-theme was "Empowerment Through Education: Living A Dream. Building A Future". We had a 3-hour session in the afternoon where eye specialists shared their professional knowledge on Blindness Prevention.
Today, we are planning to hold our 3rd World Speech Day. The venue is again at YMCA Auditorium on 15 March 2018. The main theme "For A Better World" remains unchanged. For us in Singapore, we shall emphasise on "Lifelong Journey: Leadership and Learning".
I have decided that this shall be my High Performance Leadership (HPL) project for my Pathways DTM. I am the Co-Organising Chair together with President Richard Ong, Rotary Eclub of 3310.
Toastmasters' Pathways have been great since I am able to incorporate my outside activities when doing my projects. In the process, I have learned many new social media skills. I shall complete my Team Collaboration path Level 3 on 3 January 2018 and then proceed quickly to complete Level 4 and Level 5 shortly thereafter; incorporating my activities in Rotary, ACTA and Toastmasters!
