The New Pathways -- Focus On The Positive

"Whatever direction your words lead, your mind, body and environment will inevitably follow." - Jim Rohn. This is so true. So watch your words as they will influence your thoughts... and your thoughts will influence your action!

Pathways' Focus On The Positive requires the participant to keep a journal of his moods and attitudes for a minimum period of 14 days; noting how he feels, positive or negative, and to celebrate success in reframing as necessary and be grateful for the things in his daily life.

Unfortunately, for many of us in Singapore, we are always too busy with one thing or another. We do not even have a few moments for ourselves to do some self-reflections and personal check-ins. This is very unhealthy.

Indeed, this is an excellent project. We need to be more mindful... and less mind full. Reframing means looking at the same thing in a totally different light and seeing a positive angle even in a bad situation.

Like everyone else, I had my share of challenges during those two weeks. The good thing was (that) I was focused on organising World Polio Day in Singapore on 24 October 2017.

I started journally on 10 October. That same day, an angel gave me a lift to Keppel Club on my way to do a wedding solemnisation. I looked at every negative news as challenges to be overcome.

With good support from a few members in the committee, we had a very successful PolioPlus fundraising event with over 200 dinner guests. We also flew in a special guest speaker, a polio survivor, from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Giving thanks and acknowledging others certainly make everyone happy. No man is an island. By focusing on positive outcomes, and eliminating negative thoughts, we become happier, healthier and more productive!
