The New Pathways -- Understanding Your Leadership (Communication) Style

Depending on which path you have chosen, you will be given the opportunity to take one or two psychometric assessments - Understanding Your Leadership Style or Understanding Your Communication Style. This is found in Level 2 of Pathways. Any one of the two is definitely worth more than US$20 paid for each path!!

In Sun Tzu's The Art of War, he was often quoted, "If you know the enemy and you know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles."

So, why is it important for us as leaders to understand our leadership style???

Leadership style refers to an approach taken by a particular leader. When you know what your leadership style is, you can have a clear idea of your strengths, as well as your weaknesses.

Some leaders are prone to use one general style in almost all situations. Others may attempt to adjust their style to meet the particular needs of each situation encountered.

It is important for the leaders to know what their main style preferences are so that they can evaluate the likely effectiveness of that style in a given set of circumstances (or know how far they may need to change their style in order to get a better result).

To optimize the performance of the team, leaders need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each member in the team. For every strength, there is a weakness.

Indeed, having someone who can complement each other is one of the most valuable asset.
